TERI LOU'S PHOTOGRAPHIC BIOGRAPHY
My first experience with a camera was when I was 5 years old. I can still remember standing in front of my grandparents and taking my first photo with the camera they gave me. I still have that image in my photo book; yes their heads were cut off.
My next professional experience was as model posing for my dad in our garage. He loved to practice and experiment. My favorite image was a double exposure of me holding my head.
I took photographs for my high school yearbook and newspaper. I took photographs of my children as they grew up. I also took photographs of family vacations.
Yet I became a serious photographer, one with a digital SLR camera, when my children were in high school. I instantly loved the creativity.
I have traveled throughout the world capturing its beauty and magnificence as a photographer, however, when workshop instructor, Sam Abell said, “Don’t forget to capture everyday life.” my photographic purpose changed.
CaptureBooks was born. “Photographically capturing and preserving everyday life in a personal published book.” The possibilities are endless and the reward is great. I combine my design talent with my photographs to create personal CaptureBooks. I love that these books are only limited by mine and my clients’ imagination.
Today the times I enjoy most are ones with my camera, camper and computer. It is a time of self discovery. "Great photographs flow from who we are." I am an instructor and a life long student, loving to absorb the knowledge that awaits me.
